cat_online_20090928The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) announced on 16 December that the pen and pencil format of Common Admission Test (CAT) is history but assured that all the aggrieved students who could not appear for the test during the scheduled test window will get another chance in mid-January.

The Directors of seven IIMs had a meeting on 16 December with the Higher Education Secretary Vibha Puri Das in New Delhi.

According to sources Sameer Barua, Director of IIM-Ahmedabad has said that IIMs will be conducting a retest in mid-January the test will be computer based. He also said that the computer based test of CAT will continue. The CAT went online for the first time this year and several students could not appear for the exam due to technical glitches in the whole process.
