Indore Metro Opens Coaches for Parties and Pre-Wedding Shoots
Indore Metro has introduced a new initiative that will allow people to book metro coaches for birthday parties, pre-wedding shoots, film shoots, and small celebrations. The plan has been launched by the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation to increase non-ticket revenue and improve public engagement with the metro service.
Under the new “Celebration on Wheels” policy, people can book selected metro coaches and station areas for private events. The booking charge starts from Rs 5,000 per hour for a stationary coach and goes up to Rs 7,000 per hour for a moving metro coach. Officials said bookings must be made at least 15 days in advance and will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Metro officials said the idea was introduced keeping in mind the changing lifestyle of people in cities like Indore and Bhopal. The corporation believes the metro can become more than just a transport system and can also be used as a modern event space. A maximum of 50 people will be allowed for celebrations inside a coach, while safety rules and metro operations will continue without interruption.
The move has already created discussion among residents on social media, with many people calling it a unique concept for the city. Indore Metro started operations recently and officials are now focusing on increasing passenger interest and alternative income sources.
